Who can become a member?
The Governor’s Club is open to property owners of Kiawah Island and Kiawah River Estates.
I am part owner of a home, can I become a member?
Any person who is a property owner can become a member. In the case of a multi-family home, each family may join the Governor’s Club individually.
What are the playing fees for golf?
Golf members pay a playing fee to walk ($18) or ride ($36), except at The Ocean Course. Social and tennis members pay the member-guest fee. There is not an additional 15% off.
What are the playing fees at The Ocean Course?
The playing fee is $116 for all golf members. The Ocean Course is walking only before noon (except June/July/August walking only before 10:00 am). There is not an additional 15% off. Caddies are available when walking. The recommended gratuity is $120 per bag based on service. Forecaddies accompany all carts. The recommended gratuity is $60 per bag based on service.
What is the reservation policy?
Golf, Tennis and Social members may book tee times 14 days in advance at all courses. Tennis members may schedule court times 14 days in advance.
What is the guest policy?
All guests must be accompanied by a member. Guests pay the member-guest rate up to a maximum of three guests per member. Dining reservations may include up to six accompanied guests per party.
What is the membership term?
All memberships expire on December 31.
Who is included in a membership?
All memberships include the individual member, spouse and any children under the age of 25.
Can adult children go to the pools without a member?
A Pool-Add-On can be purchased for $275 per membership prior to March 1. Adult children, grandchildren, parents and siblings are eligible to be included in the Pool Add-On. Pool Add-On family members may enter the pool without a member being present. All names, dates of birth and photos must be submitted to the membership office prior to March 1. Daily fees apply to each person entering the pool. Pool Add-On family members may bring up to one guest with them to the pool. A daily fee applies to each Pool Add-On member and guest entering the pool. Pool Add-On family members do not have any charging privileges.
What are the charging privileges?
Members are given a photo ID membership card for personal cashless transactions at any resort outlet. Cards are not transferrable.
